The Role of Video EEG and Routine EEG Examination in the Diagnosis and Analysis of Epilepsy
Objective:To statistically analyze the clinical value of video EEG and routine EEG examination in the diagnosis and lesion analysis of epilepsy. Methods:Based on the data from January 2020 to December 2021,statistical work was conducted on 80 suspected epilepsy patients admitted during the period.Video EEG and routine EEG examinations were conducted separately, and the examination results and patient comfort were compared between the two methods. Results:The abnormal discharge rate, abnormal discharge rate, epileptic discharge detection rate, and clinical seizure detection rate of video EEG examination were higher than those of conventional EEG techniques, with significant differences(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in the detection rates of atypical tonic seizures, benign myoclonus, and benign non epileptic infantile spasms between the two examination methods(P>0.05);The comfort level of video EEG examination was higher than that of conventional EEG techniques, with significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of video EEG examination technology in the diagnosis and analysis of epilepsy can ensure the accuracy of the examination results, and has higher clinical application value.
