Effect of Transurethral Plasma Resection of Prostate on Urethral Function and Oxidative Stress Index in BPH Patients
Objective:To investigate the effects of transurethral plasmotomy of prostate(PKRP)on urethral function and oxidative stress indexes in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods:69 patients with BPH who were admitted to People's Hospital of Le'an County,Fuzhou City,Jiangxi Province from January 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the study objects. They were randomly divided into observation group(n=34)and control group(n=35)by computer numbering.Observation group was treated with PKRP,control group was treated with transurethral resection of prostate(TURP).Perioperative indexes, urethral function indexes, oxidative stress indexes, prostate symptoms and sexual function were compared between the two groups. Results:The intraoperative blood loss in observation group was less than that in control group, and the days of urinary catheter indwelling and hospitalization were shorter than those in control group(all P<0.05).The levels of urethral function indexes and the scores of International Prostatic Symptom Scale(IPSS)and International Erectile Function Index(IIEF-5)were improved in both groups half a year after surgery, and the improvement of observation group was better than that of control group(all P<0.05).The levels of oxidative stress indexes in both groups were improved after 3 days, and the improvement in observation group was better than that in control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion:PKRP is effective in the treatment of BPH patients, which can promote the recovery of urethral function, reduce the oxidative stress reaction.
