Observation on the Effectiveness of Arthroscopic Assisted Open Reduction and Internal Fixation Surgery in the Treatment of Unstable Distal Radius Fractures in Elderly Patients
Objective:To investigate the effect of arthroscopic assisted open reduction and internal fixation in the treatment of unstable distal radius fractures in the elderly patients.Methods:108 elderly patients with unstable distal radius fractures admitted to the Orthopedics Department of Tonggu County People's Hospital from October 2020 to June 2023 were randomly divided into a control group(n=54)and an observation group(n=54).The control group received open reduction and internal fixation surgery, while the observation group received arthroscopic assisted open reduction and internal fixation surgery. The related indexes and complications of surgery were recorded, and the effect of fracture reduction and the improvement of wrist joint function were evaluated. Results:The observation group had more surgery time and intraoperative blood loss than the control group, and shorter hospital stay and fracture healing time compared to the control group. The excellent and good rates of ulnar deviation angle and wrist joint function were higher in the observation group than in the control group at 6 months after surgery, and the palm tilt angle was lower in the observation group than in the control group at 6 months after surgery, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The total incidence rate of incision infection, articular surface unevenness, shoulder hand syndrome, etc.in the observation group was 3.70%,while in the control group it was 9.26%.There was no statistically significant difference between the groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:For elderly patients with unstable distal radius fractures, arthroscopic assisted open reduction and internal fixation can be selected according to the actual situation, and the reduction effect is ideal, which can effectively improve joint function and speed up postoperative recovery.
