A Comparative Study of Microimplant Anchorage and Traditional Segmental Arch in the Treatment of Traction Ectopic Canine
Objective:Exploring the difference in therapeutic effects between micro implant anchorage and traditional segmental arch correction methods in traction of maxillary labial ectopic canines.Methods:40 orthodontic patients who visited our dental department from January 2018 to April 2023 were selected. They were divided into an observation group and a control group, with 20 cases in each group. The observation group used micro implant anchorage to assist in traction of canines, while the control group used posterior teeth as anchorage to traction canines. The amount of anterior movement of the first molar, treatment duration, width change of the first molar, distance and time of canine movement were compared between the two groups, dental plaque and mucosal conditions in the posterior area. Results:Compared with the control group, the observation group was superior to the control group in the amount and width of the first molars, duration of treatment and plaque of the first molars(P<0.05),there was no significant difference in canine movement speed and mucosal condition(P>0.05).Conclusion:The auxiliary use of micro implant anchorage for traction of ectopic canines can effectively protect posterior teeth anchorage, shorten treatment time, and reduce plaque attachment in the molar area.
