Application Value of Swallowing Therapeutic Apparatus in Elderly Patients with Dysphagia
Objective:To explore the application value of swallowing therapy equipment in elderly patients with swallowing disorders. Methods:A study was conducted on 84 elderly patients with swallowing disorders admitted to our hospital from May 2022 to May 2023. They were randomly divided into a control group (receiving routine symptomatic treatment) and an observation group (receiving swallowing therapy equipment in addition to routine symptomatic treatment),with 42 cases in each group,and the therapeutic effects were compared. Results:After treatment,the total clinical effective rate and SWAL-QOL score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05);The observation group had lower scores in the Wada water test,incidence of coughing and aspiration,as well as lower levels of albumin,total serum protein,and Hemoglobin levels compared to the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The auxiliary effect of swallowing therapy equipment is more ideal,which helps to improve patients' swallowing function,reduce complications,correct the body's nutritional status,and optimize quality of life.
