The Value of Xpert MTB/RIF and BD BACTEC MGIT 960 Automatic Rapid Liquid Culture Monitor in Assisting the Diagnosis of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Infection
Objective:To investigate the value of Xpert MTB/RIF and BD BACTEC MGIT 960 automatic rapid liquid culture monitor in the diagnosis of mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Methods:500 patients with suspected mycobacterium tuberculosis infection in our hospital from May 2021 to February 2024 were retrospectively selected,and Xpert MTB/RIF and BD BACTEC MGIT 960 were respectively cultured by automatic rapid liquid culture. The value of single and combined detection of the two methods in the diagnosis of mycobacterium tuberculosis infection was compared,and the results of different drug duration,drug types and drug resistance were compared. Results:The clinical culture results showed that 384 cases of 500 suspected mycobacterium tuberculosis infection were confirmed,including 282 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis and 102 cases of extrapulmonary tuberculosis.361 cases were confirmed by Xpert MTB/RIF test,355 cases by BD BACTEC MGIT 960 test,and 378 cases by combined diagnosis. The sensitivity and accuracy of combined diagnosis were higher than that of single detection,and the missed diagnosis was lower than that of single detection (P<0.05). The number of drug resistance cases of rifampicin (including rifamycin) detected by BD BACTEC MGIT 960 for>3 months was higher than that of Xpert MTB/RIF (P<0.05). Conclusion:Both Xpert MTB/RIF and BD BACTEC MGIT 960 automatic rapid liquid culture have high diagnostic value for mycobacterium tuberculosis infection,and provide reference for early clinical screening diagnosis and detection of drug susceptibility,so as to develop corresponding intervention programs.
