Comparison of Efficacy of Posterior Short-Segment and Long-Segment Pedicle Fixation in the Treatment of Spinal Fractures
Objective:To compare the effect of posterior short segment pedicle nail fixation with long segment pedicle fixation in patients with spinal fracture. Methods:60 patients with spinal fracture in our hospital from February 2021 to January 2023 were selected and divided into two groups according to different operations.30 cases in the long segment group were treated with posterior long segment pedicle nail, and 30 cases in the short segment group were treated with posterior short segment pedicle nail. Perioperative indexes, complication rate, percentage of anterior vertebra height at different time points, cobb angle, pain degree and lumbar function were compared between two groups. Results:The incision length, operation time and hospital stay in the long segment group were longer than those in the short segment group, the intraoperative blood loss was more than that in the short segment group, and the postoperative bed time was less than that in the short segment group (P<0.05). The cobb angle and ODI scores were lower in segment group than in short segment group at 3 months and 1 year after surgery, and the percentage of anterior vertebra height was higher than that in short segment group (P<0.05). VAS score and complication rate of the two groups were compared at 1 week,3 months and 1 year after surgery (P>0.05). Conclusion:Compared with posterior short segment pedicle screw fixation, long segment pedicle fixation can shorten the bed time of spinal fracture, enhance the function of lumbar spine, and facilitate the postoperative recovery of patients.
