Comparison of the Efficacy of Drug-Coated Balloons and Drug-Eluting Stents Used in Acute Myocardial Infarction
Objective:To investigate the difference in efficacy between drug-coated balloon (DCB) and drug-eluting stent (DES) in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods:During the time span from January 2022 to December 2023,80 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) treated in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine,Ganxian District People's Hospital,Ganzhou City were carefully selected as participants in this study. Based on the types of equipment used during the treatment, these patients were divided into two groups:one with a drug-coated balloon (DCB),called the DCB group, and one with a drug-eluting stent (DES),named the DES group. Each group contained 40 patients. To comprehensively assess the efficacy of the two treatments,a comparative analysis of multiple key indicators after treatment in the two groups. These key indicators include the rate of vascular restenosis, the incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE),the status of postoperative angina attacks, and changes in cardiac function indicators. Results:The DCB group was lower than the DES group (P<0.05),but the difference in MACE incidence was not significant (P>0.05);The frequency of postoperative angina attacks in the DCB group was lower than the DES group (P<0.05),but the difference in the duration of angina episodes between the two groups was not significant (P>0.05);The cardiac function index improved, but the difference was not significant (P>0.05). Conclusion:DCB has some advantages in reducing the rate of vascular restenosis and reducing postoperative angina attacks, and DES is stable in long-term efficacy. Appropriate treatment devices should be selected according to patient specific conditions.
