Clinical Study on the Effect of Video Electroencephalogram in the Treatment of Epilepsy in Children with Ketogenic Diet
Objective:To explore the clinical effect of video electroencephalogram in the treatment of epilepsy in children with ketogenic diet. Methods:This study included 72 pediatric patients from January 2020 to February 2023. They were randomly divided into a control group (treated with ketogenic diet) and an observation group (treated with video electroencephalogram combined with ketogenic diet) using a throwing method. The changes in clinical indicators, blood lipids, endothelial function, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The frequency of seizures, types of medication used, and average blood and urine copper levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05);Before treatment, there was no significant difference in blood lipid levels between the two groups (P>0.05);After treatment, there was no significant difference in the levels of TG,TC,and HDL between the two groups (P>0.05),and the LDL level in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05);There was no significant difference in endothelial function related indicators between the two groups before and after treatment (P>0.05);The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 5.56% lower than that in the control group (22.22%) (P<0.05). Conclusion:The application of video computer graphics in ketogenic diet treatment of epileptic children can not only reduce the frequency of seizures, but also reduce the types of drugs, reduce the level of copper in blood and urine, improve the prognosis, while not damaging the vascular endothelial function, reduce the risk of atherosclerosis, and reduce adverse reactions, further improving the safety.
