Objective To investigate chemotherapy method of concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy on medium and advanced stage cervical cancer1. Methods The 86 cases with medium and advanced stage cervical cancer treated by concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy were randomized into two groups: concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy group(46 cases), radiotherapy group(40 cases). The curative effective and side effect were observed and compared. Results Effective rate was 100%, 97.50% in concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy group and radiotherapy group, with no significant difference among them(P >0.05). The rate of five year survival, local recurrence, and distant metastasis was 69.57%,19.57%, and 17.39% respectively in concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy group, higher than radiotherapy group 55.00%, 42.50%, 40.00%). There was significant difference between the two groups(P <0.05). There was obviously bone marrow inhibition and side-effect of digestive tract in concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy group compared to radiotherapy group(P <0.05). Conclusions Concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy can significantly improve the patients' survival, reduce the local recurrence and distant metastasis with less side effect in medium and advanced stage cervical cancer.
