Long-term functional evaluation of frozen allogenic composite tissue of fingers after transplantation
Objective To evaluate the long-term function of frozen allogenic composite tissue of fingers after transp-lantation. Method Based on the criteria of the function of hand reconstruction of hand surgery society of Chinese Medical Association, 16 cases of allotransplantation of thumbs were primary examined on motor function, volar sensation, strength of pinch and grasp as well as donor feet. Results All the transplants survived. The patients were followedup for 3 months to 5 years(mean 2.6 years) postoperatively. After operation the average excellent and good score was 93.7% including 9 cases of excellent, 6 of good, 1 of fair and 0 of poor. Conclusion Transplantation of frozen allogenic composite tissue of finger is a good alternative in the treatment of plateau fractures to avoid influencing factor like as rejection and bone resorption.
