The study of treatment effect for initial severe hand-foot mouth disease with IVIG and ganglioside
Objective To study the clinical effect of human intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG) and ganglioside for initial severe hand-foot- mouth disease(HFMD). Methods 60 initial severe HFMD patients were divided into Group A and Group B, the two groups are small doses of methylprednisolone, reducing intracranial pressure. A group in addition to the conventional method, IVIG, Group B, in addition to the use of conventional methods, intravenous IVIG and ganglioside. After treatment, observe the nervous system function scores of the two groups of children, the main symptoms, signs of recovery time, the average days of hospi-talization, to evaluate the efficacy. Results After treatment, two groups of children with neurological score have improved. The nerve function scores of B group improved more significantly than group A(P<0.05); major group B of the symptoms and signs of recovery time is significantly shorter than group A, group B and group A compared length of hospital stay was shortened(P<0.05). Conclusion The drug combination of HFMD severe in relieve symptoms and shorten the course of the disease, and improve neurological function is superior to IVIG treatment.
