The Investigation of Health Education and the Treatment Conditions in Stable COPD Patients in Communitis of Chengdu
Objective To investigate and assess the health education demand and condition of used medicine in stable COPD patients in communitis of Chengdu. Methods An epidemiological survey was conducted in 478 stable COPD patients in communitis of Chengdu during January and December, 2008. The questionnaire included the knowledge about COPD and the condition of used medicine, the kinds of used drugs,how to adjust the dose of drugs. Results The recognition level of patients about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was very low. During the used medicine, β2-agonists were arranged the first, next, phosphodiesterase inhibitors, and yet anticholinergics in the fourth. Conclusion The patients have a poor understanding of COPD in communitis of Chengdu and anticholinergics was not used widespread in treatment of COPD patients. Health education should play an important role in the management of COPD.
