A controlled study of escitalopram combined with quetiapined on the treatment of depression with physical symptoms
Objective To study the efficacy and safety of escitalopram combined with quetiapined in the treatment of depression with physical symptoms. Methods The 80 patients with depression were randomly divided into 2 groups(40 patients in escitalopram combined with quetiapined group, 40 patients in escitalopram group), The course was 6 weeks. Clinical effectiveness was evaluated using HAMD-17, HAMA-14, and adverse reactions and safety were assessed with TESS and laboratory examination. Result In the end of the treatment, the response rate was 92.5% for escitalopram combined with quetiapined group, there was significant difference of the efficacy(P <0.05). The difference in HAMD and HAMA score after treatment was significant(P <0.05), the difference in side effects between the two grous was not significant(P >0.05). Conclusion Escitalopram combined with quetiapine for depression with physical symptoms is an effective and safe therapy.
