The Analysis of the Lever of Serum Neuron-specific Enolase and Prognosis of Cerebral Concussion Patient
Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the connection between the lever of serum neuron-specific enolase(NSE) and prognosis of cerebral concussion patient. Methonds Sixty nine patients with cerebral concussion were included in this prospective study. Venous blood samples for NSE were taken within 24 hours after injury and 72 hours after injury and was test by Elisa test method, and the patient was monitor by follow-up visit until 3 weeks after the injury to confirm if post concussion syndrome happens or not. Results 6 cases with post concussion syndrome was found in the group of normal lever of NSE within 24 hours after injury which was 19.3% in 31 cases. But 31 cases was found in the grope of high lever of NSE which was 81.6% in 38 cases. There was 6 cases in the group of high lever NSE 72 hours after injury was found which showed 100% in 6 cases. And the concentration of NSE in the patient with post concussion syndrome was significantly higher than in those without post concussion syndrome which revealed a statistically significant association(P<0.000). Conclusion Serum concentration of NSE can be a biochemical criterion for determining condition and prognosis of cerebral concussion patient.
