Objective To observe the application effect of carotid artery stenting in the treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Methods From our hospital and Zhujiang Hospital of Guangzhou in 2009 January-2011 December, with carotid artery stenosis in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease, random sampling of 92 cases, according to whether the carotid artery stenting were divided into 2 groups, the observation group 46 cases, control group 46 cases. A control group of 46 patients with simple drug treatment, the observation group 46 cases of patients with carotid artery stenting and drug treatment. Referring to North American Society of carotid artery surgery(NASCET) respectively to the degree of carotid stenosis in the patients of the 2 groups were evaluated standards. At the same time, 2 groups of patients were followed up for 3 months-2 years, respectively, to investigate and ischemic stroke statistics of 2 groups of patients after treatment and the combined incidence of death. Results The patients in the observation group treatment rates for carotid artery severe stenosis 6.52%, 26.08% in the control group(P<0.05). At the same time, the observation group of patients with ischemic stroke and death of the incidence rate was 8.69%, 34.79% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Carotid artery stenting can effectively reduce the degree of carotid artery stenosis in the prevention and treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular diseases, while reducing the ischemic stroke patients and the combined incidence of death.
