Analysis of 79 cases of retroperitoneoscopic renal cystectomy
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of retroperitoneoscopic unroofing of renal cyst. Methods 79 cases of retroperitoneoscopic unroofing of renal cyst were retrospectively analyzed. Operation time, blood loss and postoperative follow-up recurrence were also analyzed. Results The procedures were successful in 77 cases(97.5%), 2 cases(2.5%) were converted to open surgery. The surgical time was 2 hours from 35min to 260min, average (78.16± 36.39)min, and the estimated blood loss was from 5ml to 200ml, average (32.91±26.90)ml. The postoperative period was uneventful and no major complication was happened. We followed the patients’ progress for 15 months to 47 months after the operation, average (28.88±9.16)months. All symptomatic patients were symptom-free or released. Retroperitoneoscopic unroofing of renal cyst demonstrated a 97.4%(75 in 77) relapse-free rae and only a 2.6%(2 in 77) recurrence rate. Conclusion Retroperitoneoscopic unroofing of renal cyst is safe, reliable and effective with less bleeding, faster recovery and low recurrence rate, which can be used as the preferred method of treatment of simple renal cyst.
