A comparative analysis of X-ray, CT and MRI in the diagnosis of spinal metastases
Objective To compare and analyze of X-ray, CT and MRI in the diagnosis of spinal metastases, to evaluate the different diagnostic advantage, and to explore its clinical applicability. Methods 98 patients with spinal metastases were selected in our hospital from June 2010 to June 2012,and all patients were using X-ray, CT and MRI examination and diagnosis. Then observed the imaging performance of the three methods and detection situation. Results The vertebra detection rate of X-ray was 52.22%, 75.00% detection rate of CT vertebra, MRI's vertebra detection rate of 96.11%, significantly higher than the detection rate of X-ray and CT diagnosis methods, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05). Conclusions Conventional X-ray can find in the majority of spinal metastases and make a diagnosis, CT can show ordinary X-ray which is not easy to find a small amount of early bone destruction, while MRI is more sensitive and specificity, earlier detection and diagnosis of spinal metastases.
