Analysis on risk factors for PICC catheter-related blood stream infections in tumor patients
Objective To explore the risk factors for PICC catheter-related blood stream infections in tumor patients so as to provide the evidence for optimizing the nursing measures and implementing the prevention. Methods Selected 189 cases of tumor patients indwelling PICC catheters for the study, all patients give in clinical analysis and bacterial culture. To analyzing age, puncture technique, fixation methods, catheter maintenance cycle, indwelling time of catheter movement, chemotherapy the impact of factors on the infection. Results 189 cases of patients with a total of 23 cases of bacterial culture positive, the infection rate was 12.1%; the catheter maintenance cycle and moving the catheter PICC catheter are risk factors for infection. Conclusion Attention and reducing maintenance of PICC catheter movement can effectively prevent catheter-related infections.
