Clinical Efficiency of Surgical Operation and ALA-PDT in the Treatment of Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Actinic Keratosis
Objective To analyse the clinical efficiency of surgical operation and 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy(ALA-PDT) in the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) and actinic keratosis(AK). Methods 34 patients were received surgical operation, then 3-7 times of ALA-PDT (once a week from the next day after operation), and then follow-up of 15-36 months. Results All patients responded completely(100% of total cases), and in follow-up only one patient of SCC recurred(5.26% of 19 cases); no patients of AK recurred. Conclusion Treating SCC and AK with combination of surgical operation and ALA-PDT is one of the effective and safe methods.
