Effects of Tiotropium on IL-13 in serum and sputum induced of patients with bronchial asthma
Objective We aimed to explore the effects and mechanism of Tiotropium on IL-13 in serum and sputum induced of patients with bronchial asthma. Methods Sixty patients were randomly divided into two groups, observation group(30 cases) and control group(30 cases). Budesonide was inhaled in control group, while budesonide and tiotropium were inhaled in observation group. IL-13 in serum and sputum induced of patients were detected before treatment and at 8 weeks after treatment. Results The levels of IL-13 in serum and sputum of patients with asthma decreased significantly(P <0.01) after treatment in both groups. IL-13 in serum and sputum induced of Observation group were significantly lower than that of control group(P <0.05). Conclusion Tiotropium could reduced the levels of IL-13 in serum and sputum induced of patients with asthma, and it has anti-inflammatory effects.
