Prelimiary study of Diffusion-weighted MRI after electrical burn in rabbits
Objective To observe apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC) changes after rabbits electric burn. Methods Twelve healthy New Zealand white rabbits were equally randomized into burn group and control groups(post-burn at 24, 48 and 72h respectively). They were imaged with a 1.5T MRI protocol to obtain T2WI, T1WI and DWI with ADC maps using b values of 50, 100, 300s/mm2, and histological examinations were conducted on burn muscles. Result The ADC of burn groups was lower than the control group. ADC of 48 h group were significantly lower than that of control group(P <0.05) when b=300s/mm2. Conclusion DWI is sensitive to characterize the histopathologic changes with b values and ADC may be a useful parameter in assessing degree of burn.
