The Analysis of Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment about Male Breast Cancer
Objective To analyze the clinical diagnosis and treatment of male breast cancer to strengthen physicians′awareness to improve their diagnoses and treatments. Methods The clinical data of 22 cases of male breast cancer admitted between January 1999 and December 2012 were analyzed retrospectively, to summarize its clinical manifestations, laboratory tests, therapeutic methods and effects, prognosis. Results The 22 cases were confirmed by operation and pathologic diagnosis. Age of onset of male breast cancer is late, which is easy to invade the skin or nipple and there is higher rate of lymph node metastasis. Operation is the primary treatment approach, which is combined with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and endocrine therapy postoperative in male patients with breast cancer. Conclusion Male breast cancer should take comprehensive treatment based on operation, which has poor prognosis and 10 years survival rate is low.
