Application of CT manifestations in differentiate diagnosis of parotid tumors in Otorhinolaryngology
Objective To analyze the differential diagnosis points of parotid tumors with CT. Methods 35 pathologically confirmed cases of parotid tumor were selected from January, 2008 to September, 2013. The performance characteristics in CT were analyzed to determine whether benign or malignant and compare with pathologic findings. Results CT diagnosis correspondence rate in benign tumor was 84.6% while malignant tumor was 88.9%. The performance of parotid tumors in CT was as following: most benign tumors were in the superficial lobe, most shapes were regular, boundaries were clear, and with no invasion and lymph node metastasis; while malignant tumor involved in the deep lobe or cross depth-superficial two leaves, the shape was irregular, boundary was not clear, and with invasion and lymph node metastasis. Conclusion CT had high value in differentiate diagnosis of parotid tumor based on the CT features of location, shape, border area and invasiveness images and provide important image information before surgery.
