Diagnostic value of GPC3, VEGF and nm23 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma
Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of GPC3, VEGF and nm23 expressions in metastasis of HCC. Method Immunohistochemistry was performed to detect the protein expression of GPC3, VEGF and nm23 in 54 HCC patients(27 patients with metastasis, 27 patients without). The detection accuracy of single indicator or combined indicators was observed. Results There were significant differences of GPC3, VEGF, nm23 expression between metastatic group and non-metastatic group(P <0.05). The AUC of single detection by GPC3, VEGF and nm23 were 0.646(P <0.05), 0.838(P <0.05), 0.678(P <0.05), respectively. The combinational detection for any two indicators could enhance the detection rate of HCC metastasis. The sensitivity and specificity of combined GPC3 and nm23 detection was significantly higher than other combinations. The combination detection for all of GPC3, VEGF, nm23 could obviously enhance the detection ratio till 100%. Conclusion Reasonable selection of combined detection of multi markers plays a vital role in the prediction of HCC metastasis.
