Separation mechanism of bastnaesite flotation from calcite and fluorite with combined hydroxamic acid
Under the condition of benzohydroxamic acid(BHA)and octyl hydroxamic acid(OHA)as well as combined hydroxamic acid as collectors, the flotation processes of bastnaesite, calcite and fluorite were investigated. The action mechanism of hydroxamic acids on the mineral surface was studied using infrared spectroscopy analysis, total organic carbon(TOC),ultraviolet spectrum adsorption test and XPS analysis. The results indicate that,at pH=9.5,the total concentration of the combined collector(n(BHA)∶n(OHA)=2∶1)is 3×10-4 mol/L and the concentration of salted water glass is 3×10-3 mol/L.The recoveries of bastnaesite, calcite, and fluorite are found to be 89.7%,18.7%,and 13.5%,the grade of REO in artificial mixed ore increase from 28.90%to 55.41%,and the recovery rate of bastnaesite is 80.41%.respectively.The bastnaesite exhibits significant flotation differences compared to the two gangue minerals.Co-adsorption is observed on the mineral surface, with the adsorption rate of BHA+OHA in the combined collector being higher than that of a single agent with the same concentration.Salted water glass impedes the adsorption of collectors on the surface of calcite and fluorite, while it has no effect on the adsorption of collectors on the surface of bastnaesite ore.It can research the purpose of inhibiting calcite and fluerite and achieve selective flotation of bastnasite ore.
