Study on reduction and kinetic of zinc from lead-zinc oxide
The effects of reduction temperature, reduction time, carbon and lime addition amount and pellets diameter on zinc oxide reduction process were studied by lead-zinc sinter as raw material. The results show that the zinc reduction ratio raises with reduction temperature increasing, reduction time prolonging, carbon addition amount raising, pellets diameter decreasing.Lime addition amount affects little on the zinc reduction ratio. The optimum conditions are reduction temperature of 1423 K,reduction time of 20 min,3.0 times of the theoretical carbon addition amount, and pellets diameter of 10 mm.Under the optimized conditions, the zinc content of the reduced slag is 1.98%,the zinc reduction ratio is 96.22%.In the temperature range of 1273 to 1423 K,the reduction process of zinc oxide is controlled by chemical reaction, and the apparent activation energy of the reduction reaction is 264.551 kJ/mol.
