Effect of pre-rolling-annealing on microstructure and mechanical properties of Cu-7.5Sn-0.1P strip
The cast Cu-7.5Sn-0.1P alloys were pre-rolled followed by homogenization annealing, and investigated using XRD,OM,SEM,EDS,EPMA and tensile testing, etc. The effects of pre-rolling deformation and annealing temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the alloys were studied. The results show that the pre-rolling can lead to fragmentation of dendrite structure of the Cu-7.5Sn-0.1P alloy, which may promote the elimination of Sn segregation structure at lower annealing temperature.By comparison with the alloy subjected to direct annealing, the pre-rolled-annealed alloy has finer grain size, higher strength and maintains good plastic deformation capability. The final 0.2 mm thick finished strip produced by cold rolling of the pre-rolling-annealing alloy with 44%deformation is significantly higher in strength and maintains better plasticity by comparison with strips prepared by common procedures. The tensile strength and elongation for the finished strip made from the pre-rolling-annealing alloy with 44%deformation reach 1005 MPa and 19.3%,respectively.
