Current status of anode research for Mg-air batteries
Magnesium-air batteries,as high-energy-density and low-cost energy storage devices, have garnered widespread attention in the field of green and clean energy. However, the self-corrosion behavior of the anode alloys and the discharge products limit the application of magnesium-air batteries. This paper focused on the anode materials of magnesium-air batteries, firstly summarized the current research status and main issues, and discussed their advantages. It then reviewed the development status of magnesium-air battery anode materials from the perspective of system diversification, covering strategies, such as alloying of anodes, plastic deformation processing, heat treatment and electrolyte optimization.Additionally, the paper described the impact of microstructural factors, such as grain size, secondary phases and textures,on the performance of magnesium-air batteries. Finally,it outlooked the future prospects of magnesium-air batteries.
