Optimization of copper slag type in double-furnace continuous smelting with top and side blowing
The thermodynamic effects of different slag systems and the amount of slagging agent on the melting point and viscosity of slag in Chifeng continuous copper smelting process were studied by FactSage software. The results show that the melting point of slag increases with the increase of CaO,SiO2,MgO and Al2O3 addition amounts. When the CaO content in the blowing slag exceeds 15%,the melting point of the blowing slag increases rapidly. The viscosity of melting slag decreases with the increase of CaO,SiO2 and MgO addition amounts, and increases with the increase of Al2O3 addition amount. With the melting temperature increasing from 1200℃to 1350℃,the melt viscosity decreased from 0.3 Pa∙s to 0.128 Pa∙s.The viscosity of blowing slag is smaller than that of melting slag, and decreases with the increase of CaO and SiO2 addition amounts, indicating that the appropriate increase of temperature, and the amount of slagging agent is helpful to improve the fluidity of slag. When melting at 1340℃,the optimal smelting slag type is CaO addition amount of 2.5%-3%,SiO2 addition amount of 20%-22%,MgO addition amount of 1.5%,Al2O3 addition amount of 4%-4.5%,and iron to silicon ratio of 1.9-2.0.When blowing at 1280℃,the optimal smelting slag type is CaO addition amount of 8.5%-9.5%,SiO2 addition amount of 1.5%-2.5%,the iron content about 30%and the iron-calcium ratio of about 3.4.
