Research progress in collectors for flotation separation of Cu-Fe sulfide mineral
Separation of Cu-Fe sulfide minerals via flotation is a challenging issue in the development and utilization of copper resources. Improving the efficiency and quality of concentrates has become a focal point of mineral processing research. Given the depletion of these ores and their close symbiosis, the development of efficient and selective collectors is crucial for achieving environmentally friendly separation and enrichment of Cu-Fe sulfide minerals. This paper elucidated the difficulties encountered in the flotation separation of Cu-Fe sulfide minerals, focused on recent advancements in recovery reagents for the flotation separation of these ores, discussed the mechanism behind the influence of these reagents on the flotation behavior of Cu-Fe sulfide minerals and summarized the general formula of the copper sulfide ore selective collectors structure as R—X—C(=S)—X—R (X is a functional group containing N,O,R is a hydrocarbon group). The aim of this study is to enrich the theoretical framework of Cu-Fe sulfide ore flotation separation and provides theoretical references for industrial production.
