Chinese ceramic culture has a long history. As a kind of decoration of ceramics, color can express different design concepts and emotional consciousness. In order to better inherit ceramic art and culture,a color research system based on K-means-NCS-ANOVA method was proposed in this study.Firstly,K-means color clustering and NCS color system positioning were used to extract and analyze the color of the eight major folk kilns in the Song Dynasty.Secondly, based on the above analysis results,a questionnaire survey was created to explore the application preferences of modern designers for the color of the eight major folk kilns. Finally, descriptive analysis and One-Way ANOVA were used to explore the application preferences of modern designers for the color of the eight major folk kilns.According to the experimental results, the gender, profession, and length of service of designers will also have an impact on the application preferences of colors in the eight major folk kilns. The color of Jingdezhen kiln is most popular among modern designers, while the color of Yaozhou kiln,Cizhou kiln, and Ding kiln are no longer in line with modern aesthetics. This study systematically identifies the application preferences of modern designers for the color in the eight major folk kilns, and provides effective theoretical support for inheriting ceramic culture.
