Professional degree graduate education is the primary channel for cultivating high-level applied specialists.There are still many challenges,including a disconnect between engineering practice and innovation capabilities of graduate students and industry demands,a lack of monitoring in the execution of collaborative education systems between universities and enterprises,and a shortage of tutors with engineering backgrounds.Leveraging experience from university-enterprise cooperation projects and support from provincial and university-level educational reform projects,a new model was explored and formed for cultivating professional degree graduate students in packaging material,following the principles of"innovative concepts,execution monitoring,faculty strengthening,and practice enhancement,"under the guarantee of joint training by universities and enterprises.This model integrated five dimensions:Industry(packaging materials industry and enterprises),Education(teachers and enterprise tutors),Study(professional degree graduate students),Research(industry technical services),and Cultivation(moral and intellectual development).This new model can cultivate the professional and innovailive talents for the printing and packaging industry and create a team of teachers who are morally and intellectually competent,strong in practical abilities,and comprehensively developed.
