With the increase of hot weather in summer, heat stress has become an serious problem in rabbit indus-try.THIs study aimed to investigate the effect of adding alkaline mineral complex(AMC)to rabbit diet on the re-productive performance of female rabbits under heat stress.A total of 120 multiparous female New Zealand rabbits were selected and randomly divided into two groups, namely the control group and the test group. The 0.2%AMC additive was added to the diet of the test group. The reproductive performance of the two groups was measured un-der heat stress environment and non-heat stress environment conditions. The results showed that:The pregnancy rate and newborn litter weight of the two groups in the non-heat stress batch were significantly greater than those in the control group of the heat stress batch(P<0.05).There weas no significant difference between groups in other six traits, including litter size, live litter size,3-week-old litter weight,5-week-old weaning number,5-week-old weaning weight, and 5-week-old weaning survival rate(P>0.05).Adding 0.2%AMC to rabbit diet can signifi-cantly alleviate the heat stress of female rabbits, increase the pregnancy rate by 16.8%(P<0.05),increase the 5-week-old weaning survival rate by 3.32%and the weaning litter weight by 3.80%.(P>0.05).In conclustion, heat stress will cause a significant decrease in the reproductive performance of female rabbits.Adding 0.2%alkaline mineral complex to the diet can effectively alleviate the heat stress response of female rabbits and improve the re-productive performance of female rabbits.
