The Effect of Changes in Environmental Temperature and Humidity on the Perfor-mance of Rabbit Littering
To analyze and explore the effects of different environmental temperatures and humidity on rabbit litter performance.Sixty female Chinese rabbits from a rabbit breeding base in Xianfeng County,Enshi Prefecture,Hu-bei Province were selected as the research subjects. The effects of different environmental temperatures and hu-midity on fertility rate, litter size per litter, survival rate of newborn litter, weight of newborn rabbits, and weight of 30 day old weaned rabbits were monitored and compared.Result The results showed that the conception rate, litter size per litter, survival rate of newborn litter, and weight of weaned rabbits in the normothermic group were signifi-cantly higher than those in the high-temperature and low-temperature groups, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The conception rate, litter size per litter, survival rate of newborn litter, and weight of weaned rabbits in the constant humidity group were significantly higher than those in the high humidity group and low humidity group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The conclusion of this study is that when the temperature and humidity of the external environment change,it can have a significant impact on the litter performance of rabbits.Among them, normal temperature and humidity can significantly promote the litter performance of rabbits in the local ar-ea.This provides a scientific reference value for finding the appropriate optimal environmental temperature and humidity for rabbit breeding in the local area, and also for improving and promoting the efficiency of rabbit breed-ing.
