Influencing Factors of Hospitalisation Costs in Bronchitis Patients based on the First Page of Medical Records
Objective To determine the influencing factors of hospitalisation costs for old bronchitis patients with aged 60 and above and to formulate scientific and reasonable medical cost control measures and reduce the economic burden of patients and families. Methods The first page of medical records information for old bronchitis patients aged 60 and above from January 2006 to December 2019 was collected from two third class hospitals in Chongqing.Factors associated with hospitalisation costs were analysed using univariate analyses, multiple linear regressions, and classfication regression tree. Results The constituent ratio of drug cost in the total hospitalization costs decreased year by year, and the constituent ratio of examination cost increased gradually.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that there were 16 influencing factors of hospitalization costs of bronchitis patients, including gender, rescue, length of stay, blood transfusion, special care and surgery, among which nosocomial infection, length of stay, and blood transfusion have a significant impact on the cost. Conclusion The key point of controlling the hospitalization costs of old bronchitis patients should focus on the examination expenses.Reducing nosocomial infection, shortening length of stay, and encourage blood donation will be helpful to reduce hospitalization costs.
