Effect of pranoprofen eye drops as an adjuvant after phacoemulsification in combination with goniosynechialysis on prognosis of patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma complicated with cataract
Objective To investigate the effect of Pranoprofen eye drops as an adjuvant after phacoemulsification in combina-tion with goniosynechialysis on prognosis of patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma complicated with cataract. Methods A total of 103 patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma complicated with cataract admitted to Hefei Second People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the research subjects and divided into 2 groups according to the random number method.Patients in both groups were treated with cataract phacoemulsification in combination with goniosynechialysis.Furthermore, the 52 patients in the control group were treated with tobramycin dexamethasone eye drops and recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor eye-gel and those in the observation group(n=51)with praprofen eye drops on the basis of the regimen in the control group. The incidence of complications, conjunctival congestion and intraocular pressure,NEI-VFQ-25 scores and treatment satis-faction were compared between the two groups one month after surgery. Results The postoperative complication rate of the ob-servation group(1.96%,1/51)was lower than that of the control group(15.38%,8/52),and the difference was significant(χ2=4.257,P=0.039).After surgery, the NEI-VFQ-25 scores, intraocular pressure, and conjunctival congestion levels in the observation group were(44.23±2.04)points,(15.22±1.89)mm Hg(1 mm Hg≈0.133 kPa)and(1.04±0.27)points,which were better than those of(32.26±2.84)points,(18.45±2.00)mm Hg and(1.42±0.33)points in the control group(t=24.526,8.421,6.389,all P<0.05).The treatment satisfaction rate in the observation group(96.07%,49/51)was higher than that in the control group(84.61%,44/52),the difference was obvious(χ2=3.859,P<0.05).Conclusion Using pralofen eye drops after cataract phacoemulsification in combination with goniosynechialysis in patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma complicated with cataract can reduce the complication rate, and postoperative ocular pressure and improve quality of life.
