Exploring the relationship between pregnancy-related factors and the risk of endometrial cancer
Objective To explore the relationship between pregnancy-related factors and the risk of endometrial cancer, and to screen high-risk groups from this perspective. Methods 191 patients with endometrial cancer diagnosed by pathology and hospitalized in the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from January 2022 to October 2023 were collected as a case group, and another 194 hospitalized patients who underwent hysterectomy for other benign gynecological diseases during the same period were set as a control group to compare the differences in clinical data between the two groups, and multifactorial analysis were performed using binary Logistic regression. Results Univariate analysis showed significant differences between the two groups in terms of age, body mass index, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, infertility, history of pregnancy complications, number of pregnancies, number of miscarriages, age at the last pregnancy, and duration of the pregnancy(in months)(P<0.05).Multifactorial analysis showed that age, body mass index, specific pregnancy complications(including hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, gestational diabetes mellitus, and preterm labor),and age at last gestation were the final variables included in the regression equation, which corresponded to adjusted relative hazard ratios of 1.052,1.127,5.971,and 0.803,respectively(P<0.05).Conclusion History of specific pregnancy complications is an independent risk factor for developing endometrial cancer, and the older the last pregnancy, the lower the risk of endometrial cancer.
