Ultrasound breast imaging reporting and data system combined with patients'age for differentiating benign and borderline/malignant phyllodes tumor of breast
Objective To observe the value of ultrasound breast imaging reporting and data system(BI-RADS)combined with patients'age for differentiating benign and borderline/malignant phyllodes tumor of breast(PTB).Methods Data of 74 female patients with 76 breast ultrasound diagnosed PTB,including 57 benign,14 borderline and 5 malignant ones confirmed by postoperative pathology were retrospectively analyzed. The patients'age and ultrasound BI-RADS classification were compared among benign, borderline and malignant PTB,and the values of age and BI-RADS classification alone and their combination for differentiating benign and borderline/malignant PTB were observed. Results Significant differences of patients'age and ultrasound BI-RADS classifications were found among benign, borderline and malignant PTB(P=0.026,0.015).The sensitivity of patient's age of 44.5 years, ultrasound BI-RADS 4B and their combination for differentiating benign and borderline/malignant PTB was 94.74%,36.84%and 73.68%,respectively,with specificity of 56.36%,87.27%and 72.73%,respectively,and the area under the curve of 0.769,0.649 and 0.780,respectively.Conclusion Ultrasound BI-RADS combined with patients'age was helpful for differentiating benign and borderline/malignant PTB.
