For the construction of smart courts,the video generation models mean both the opportunities and the risks.On the one hand,it can vividly reproduce the adjudicating facts and maintain a balance between the objective truth and the legal truth in the substantial aspect.It can also transform online trials to metaverse trials and translate judgment documents to judgment videos in the formal aspect.In these ways,it will further enhance the visualization and intelligence level of the judiciary.On the other hand,it may exacerbate the old problems of technological dependence,black box and harm to fairness,leading to negative effects such as evading judicial responsibilities,hindering judicial transparency,and ignoring judicial fairness,which undermines the positive benefits of improving judicial efficiency.Therefore,while actively learning and applying the video generation models,the potential risks should be prevented.The dominant position of judges should be firmly upheld.The video generation models should be moderately explained.And the human review of the output of judicial artificial intelligence should be strengthened.
