The transition from the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to the establishment of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone underscores the imperative of aligning civil and commercial legal systems and regulations in fostering a unified business environment under the"one country, two systems"principle. This alignment has become an essential requirement and inevitable trajectory for regional economic integration. In the pursuit of legal harmonization, strategies such as the judicious application of conflict-of-law principles and the enhancement of cross-border judicial cooperation are crucial.Furthermore, the drafting of model laws emerges as a pivotal mechanism to promote convergence of civil and commercial rules across diverse legal jurisdictions, holding profound implications for the long-term development of national and regional legal governance.Using contract law as a focal point, this study delves into the feasibility of aligning civil and commercial rules between Hengqin and Macao Special Administrative Region through the utilization of the model law framework. It achieves this by meticulously examining, comparing, and synthesizing analogous provisions within the legal frameworks of the mainland and the Macao Special Administrative Region.
