Abstract
As Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva embarks on his third presidential term and South American countries experience a warming of relations, the Brazilian government's diplomatic agenda focuses on collaborating with regional partners to advance integration in a friendly political climate. On May 28,2024,President Lula issued a decree establishing the Inter-Ministerial Commission on Integrated Infrastructure and Planning for South America. This initiative aims to further implement the Brasilia Consensus, enhance the integration of physical and digital infrastructure across the continent, and oversee the planning and monitoring of related projects. In addition to spearheading regional integration through the Brasilia Consensus,Brazil leverages its position as the rotating presidency of the G20 summit in 2024.The country actively utilizes the G20 summit as a key diplomatic resource and engages with multilateral platforms such as MERCOSUR,the Caribbean Community, the Latin American and Caribbean Community, and the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization to promote regional integration.Lula emphasized that, amidst the shifting global power dynamics and the rise of multipolarization,Latin American and Caribbean nations should present a united front and increase their involvement in significant global issues.Brazil's priorities during its G20 presidency align closely with the challenges facing the region. The country has expressed its willingness to strengthen cooperation with regional nations within the framework of both the G20 and the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization.Furthermore,Brazil has extended an invitation to regional countries to join the global coalition against hunger and poverty.
