Research progress on protein variations of integrin β3 gene polymorphisms and their relationship with disease
Integrin(ITG)β3 gene is located in chromosome 17,long arm, region 2,No.1,band 3(17q21.3).The gene interval is between 47 253 827-47 313 743,with a total length of 59 917 kb.The coding range is 47 253 862-47 310 204,and the total length is 56 343 kb,with 15 exons and 14 introns. It encodes 1648 amino acid residues and has a molecular weight of 105 kDa.Integrin β3 protein is a bivalent ion-dependent cell adhesion molecule widely present in cell membranes. Its main function is to mediate recognition, connection, and adhesion between cells,as well as between cells and extracellular matrix, leading to the role of intracellular and intracellular transmembrane adaptor protein connection. In recent years, integrin has played an important role in cell recognition and adhesion, cell activation and differentiation, immune response, cell signal transduction, inflammatory response, wound repair and healing, coagulation and thrombosis, tumor formation and metastasis, and many advances have been made, which are reviewed in this article.
