Research progress in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy with coptis alkaloids
Diabetic nephropathy is considered the most common and serious complication of diabetes,which seriously affects the prognosis of diabetes patients,and even leads to death of diabetes patients.If diabetic nephropathy is not treated effectively in time,most patients will have end-stage renal disease,and the possibility of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications will be significantly increased.As for the existing researches,relevant researches on Coptis chinensis and its active ingredient have been carried out,especially Berberine.These researches have confirmed that Coptis chinensis can fight against hyperglycemia-induced pathophysiological changes in diabetes by improving the antioxidant capacity of the body,eliminating oxygen(hydroxyl)free radicals,regulating blood lipid metabolism,increasing insulin insensitivity,reducing insulin resistance,improving vascular endothelial protection,regulating gut microbiota,etc.The use of Coptis chinensis and its alkaloids in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy has good application prospects.
