Application effect of 5M1E analysis-based management model on improving the management quality of hospital central sterile supply department
Objective To explore the application effect of 5M1E analysis-based management model in a hospital central sterile supply department(CSSD).Methods 985 devices received and 12 medical staff in CSSD,Longyan First Hospital during the routine management period from December 2020 to May 2021 were selected as the control group.In addition,985 devices and 12 medical staff in CSSD,Longyan First Hospital from June to November 2021 were selected as the observation group,which were managed using the 5M1E analysis method.The professional knowledge mastery,management quality,and satisfaction of medical staff between medical staff in the two groups were compared.Results Before the intervention,there were no statistically significant differences in the scores of device cleaning,medical waste management,packaging knowledge,and equipment use and maintenance between the two groups in terms of professional knowledge mastery(P>0.05).After the intervention,the observation group scored higher in terms of mastery of various professional knowledge than the control group,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The observation group scored higher than the control group in terms of device management quality on recycling,cleaning,packaging,sterilization,and sterile item storage,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The satisfaction scores of medical staff in the observation group were higher than those in the control group in terms of work style,work efficiency,service attitude,quality and safety,and work responsibility,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The 5M1E analysis-based management model can enhance the understanding and mastery of professional knowledge among hospital CSSD staff,further improve the quality of device management,and thus achieve higher satisfaction among medical staff.
