Observation of clinical effect on the treatment of grade Ⅱ knee osteoarthritis with end compression method
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of end compression method in knee osteoarthritis. Methods A total of 80 cases of grade Ⅱ knee osteoarthritis admitted to Department of Massage of Beijing Fengsheng Special Hospital of Traditional Medical Traumatology and Orthopedics from July 2022 to February 2023 were included and divided into two groups according to the random number table method, namely the massage treatment group(the observation group)and the external application of voltaren group(the control group),with 40 cases in each group.Regular follow-up and re-examination were conducted to analyze the score of Western Ontario and McMaster University osteoarthritis index(WOMAC),range of motion(ROM)of the knee joint, hospital for special surgery knee score(HSS),and statistical processing results of safety evaluation and clinical efficacy. Results There was no statistically significant difference in WOMAC score,ROM,and HSS knee score between the two groups of patients before treatment(P>0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,as well as at the first and second follow-ups,the WOMAC score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the ROM and HSS knee score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).No adverse reactions occurred in both groups. The therapeutic effect of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The end compression method can effectively alleviate the symptoms of patients with knee osteoarthritis, and is safe, simple, and worthy of clinical promotion.
