Clinical effect of the acupuncture method of awakening the spirit,regulating qi,and dredging collaterals combined with rehabilitation training for the treatment of spastic paralysis of lower limbs after stroke
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of the acupuncture method of awakening the spirit,regulating qi,and dredging collaterals combined with rehabilitation training for the treatment of spastic paralysis of the lower limbs after stroke.Methods A total of 72 patients with spastic paralysis of lower limbs after stroke admitted to the Department of Rehabilitation of Tai'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from November 2021 to January 2023 were randomly divided into an observation group using the acupuncture method of awakening the spirit,regulating qi,and dredging collaterals,and a control group using the acupuncture method of traditional Yangming meridian points,with 36 cases in each group.Both groups received routine rehabilitation training and the changes in modified Ashworth scale(MAS)grading,clinical spasm index(CSI)scoring,Fugl-Meyer assessment scale(FMA)scoring,and modified Barthel index(MBI)scoring before and after treatment were observed.Results Before treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in MAS grading and CSI scores between the two groups of stroke patients(P>0.05).After treatment,the MAS grading of the observation group was better than that of the control group,and the CSI score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,with significant statistical significance(P<0.05).The FMA score and MBI score of the two groups of stroke patients were significantly improved compared with those before treatment,and the scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,with significant statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The acupuncture method of awakening the spirit,regulating qi,and dredging collaterals combined with rehabilitation training can significantly improve the lower limb muscle tension,spasticity,motor function,and daily activity ability of stroke patients,and its clinical effect is superior to that of the traditional acupuncture group.
