One case of the application of BALF-mNGS in refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia
Refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(RMPP)is a serious condition of mycoplasma pneumoniae infection, characterized by a long duration of fever, prolonged hospital stay, and susceptibility to extrapulmonary complications.A case of rapidly progressing mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in a child was included in this article. It was suspected to be associated with Klebsiella pneumoniae infection, which was then confirmed by metagenomic next-generation sequencing(mNGS).Cefoperazone sulbactam combined with minocycline is used for anti-infection and broncho-fiberscope alveolar lavage treatment, with a good prognosis. The mNGS of the pathogen is of great significance in the diagnosis of coinfections in etiology. For RMPP patients,it is necessary to actively apply early bronchoalveolar lavage under fiberoptic bronchoscopy, which can provide a clear diagnosis and achieve good therapeutic results.
