Research progress on the mechanism of action of traditional Chinese medicine in treating postoperative recurrence and metastasis of colorectal cancer
The phenomenon of postoperative recurrence and metastasis in patients with advanced colorectal cancer is very common in clinical practice, leading to low quality of life and shortened survival time.It is thus currently one of the hotspots in the field of oncology research.Traditional Chinese and Western medicine have their respective advantages in treating colorectal cancer, but when combined, they can enhance strengths and avoid weaknesses, achieving a"1+1>2"effect.It can significantly improve clinical symptoms, improve quality of life of patients, and reduce the corresponding recurrence and metastasis rate.To explore the relevant mechanisms of action of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of colorectal cancer and further improve the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of patients with advanced colorectal cancer, this article summarizes the relevant mechanisms of action of traditional Chinese medicine in the recurrence and metastasis of advanced colorectal cancer after surgery by consulting a large number of relevant literature:qi deficiency, yang deficiency, retention of toxin(phlegm dampness, blood stasis,qi stagnation),and endogenous cancer toxin.
