The application value of multimodal ultrasound in the differentiation of benign and malignant thyroid nodules
Thyroid nodules are one of the most common thyroid diseases.Clinical treatment may vary depending on the benign or malignant nature of thyroid nodules. At present, there is no need for special treatment for most benign nodules clinically. For patients with suspected malignant nodules or those who cannot gain a clear diagnosis,an ultrasound-guided thyroid puncture is usually performed for pathological examination to make a definite diagnosis. However, this method is invasive for patients, with the risk of complications such as bleeding. Therefore,it is particularly important to explore a non-invasive ultrasound examination method with high accuracy. With the development of ultrasound medicine, various ultrasound examination technologies have emerged, and multimodal ultrasound examination systems are constantly developing. Therefore, this article will review the differential value of examinations of thyroid ultrasound elastography, thyroid contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and thyroid ultrasound artificial intelligence in benign and malignant thyroid nodules.
